Proper nutrition is not only an important component of overall health – it’s also a necessary part of any workout regimen. Many experts believe that your nutrition makes up as much as 75% of your physical success. And if you’re like most people looking to improve health, navigating so many diets on the market can seem like an impossible task.
But achieving your health and fitness goals isn’t rocket science – it just starts with a nutrition plan. Our registered dietitian in Toronto will help you separate nutrition facts from opinions, and help you develop a custom plan backed by evidence.

What is the difference between a registered dietitian and a nutritionist?
- In Ontario, anyone can provide nutrition counselling and call themselves a nutritionist. Registered Dietitians are the only regulated nutrition professionals in the province and are accountable, by law, to the College of Dietitians of Ontario for ethical, competent and safe practice.
Can a registered dietitian prescribe medication?
- RD’s can only make adjustments to the doses of existing insulin or oral hypoglycemic medications that have already been prescribed by an authorized healthcare practitioner or physician.
Are registered dietician services covered under OHIP?
- Registered dietician services at private practices are not covered under OHIP. However, many health insurance plans cover nutrition counselling upwards of $500 per calendar year.
